ACCOLADES

A favored 'drop-in' after 'browsing the SoHo shops', this 'busy' New American 'still works' for 'creative' cooking and 'smiling' service; attractions like the open kitchen's 'show' and a 'scrumptious' brunch explain why it's 'enduring' so well.
--Zagat Restaurant Guide

"The waitstaff boasts the courteous and unflustered manner that comes from being proficient at working a busy room...the operation possesses the confidence of a well-oiled machine."
--Michelin Guide

"Zoë has been an all-American pleasure since opening in 1992... an invigorating collaboration steeped in visual and taste verve, with respect for the past and a window on the future."

Crain's New York Business

"Zoe's strength is in its prime location - it has stood steadfast for more than 12 years.  The 14 foot terra-cotta columns, multicolored mosaics and well-tanned lunchers reek of that 'other' coast.  Zoe is serious about wine, and the menu is Los Angeles by way of Tuscany by way of Saigon by way of San Antonio....such worldly ambition pays off. "
--Time Out: Eating & Drinking Guide

"Still 'looking good' in SoHo, this upscale eatery's small, accessible bar area boasts top-notch designer drinks devised by mixmaster Dale DeGroff, along with a solid wine list and mouthwatering bar apps; both clientele and decor provide pretty scenery...the style alone is worth it."
--Zagat Nightlife Guide

"Its easy-to-read menu fearlessly promotes dominant seasonings and smart variations on the familiar.  With all the bistros, brasseries, trattorias and osterias that open and shut in SoHo faster than turquoise goes in and out of favor, there is a reason why Zoe has lasted so long, with a clientele so steady."

Ambience
Located in the copper-topped 19th century landmark SoHo building, Zoë has a facade of folding glass and wood doors. The contemporary interior features fourteen-foot terra cotta columns, original decorative ceramic and mosaic tiles, rich wood, and inlaid stone and marble detail. Diners may sit at the food bar that looks onto an exhibition kitchen with a wood burning oven and rotisserie. All of the surfaces and artistic details in Zoë were custom made by Stephen Loffredo's father Stefano, a craftsman from Tuscany, Italy.
